Sustaining SunDo $3000 Challenge to Carpet the Meditation Hall How can we complete the meditation hall at the SunDo Retreat Center? That was the question I asked Rich Kramer, our Fundraising Coordinator, during dinner at the January, 2010 Retreat. Could we carpet the entire meditation hall to make our practice space more comfortable? I realized that my experience at the Retreat Center is truly influenced by the daily practices that take place in the meditation hall: sitting, warming up, cooling down, listening to speakers during workshops, reading or napping quietly in the corner, looking out at the sun setting over the mountains. For me, the meditation hall is the heart of our Retreat Center. A new meditation hall carpet will cost about $6000, and thanks to the generosity of our members, we have already raised half that amount! Just forty more members are needed to give between $40 and $100 to help meet the goal. With funding needs still standing for the Master Building Project, we cannot overlook important renovations for our existing facilities. To reach the $3000 challenge goal by June 21, please send your contribution to the Main Sundo Center in West Hartford or contact Rich at 978-838-2439 to discuss how you can help.
By designating SunDo as a beneficiary in your will or life insurance policy, you can help to ensure the continued development of our Retreat Center. Planned gifts can also provide you with valuable tax benefits, and may enable you to provide a larger contribution to the SunDo organization than is possible during your lifetime.

Throw away holiness and wisdom,
and people will be a hundred times happier. Throw away morality and justice, and people will do the right thing. Throw away industry and profit, and there won't be any thieves. If these three aren't enough, just stay at the center of the circle and let all things take their course.
